How it started
Our mission: democratize software for small nonprofits. Organizations fighting for social good should not be penalized by expensive licensing, and modern AI-driven insight should be standard, not a premium add-on.
The solo founder story: Hudson was 21 when he noticed Dress for Success NWA drowning in spreadsheets and expensive tool bills. Salesforce was the corporate answer, but it cost thousands in consultant fees to set up, and cheaper tools didn't talk to each other. Nonprofits were forced to choose between custom database bills and scattered data silos.
He decided to change that. He built a modular system where nonprofits only pay for what they use. DatoVero started in Arkansas as a single custom application and has since grown into a full multi-tenant platform: enterprise-grade donor CRM, grant tracking, and reporting for organizations that will never have enterprise budgets.
