Questions

What is break-even for a fundraising event?

Break-even is the number of paying guests you need for ticket revenue to cover your costs. Below it the event loses money, above it every guest is net gain. It equals your fixed costs divided by the profit per ticket.

What counts as a fixed versus per-guest cost?

Fixed costs do not change with attendance: venue, entertainment, marketing. Per-guest costs scale with headcount: catering, favors, printed materials per seat.

Should I only price to break even?

No. A fundraiser aims to net well above break-even. This tool shows both the break-even point and your projected net so you can price and plan for a real surplus.

Is my data private?
